Iran Weather is classified as arid to subtropical along the Caspian coast. Being the eighteenth largest country in the world, as well as the most mountainous, goes some way towards explaining the variety of patterns typical of weather. The northwest of the country is covered by thick rainforests called jungles of Iran; the winters in this part of the country are chilly with considerable snowfall and freezing temperatures plummeting from -5°C to -20°C during January and February. In the south Gulf of Oman of Iran the winters are milder. The winter season begins as December rolls in, and runs all the way through to March.
Iran Weather during summer is characterized by hot and arid conditions with temperatures reaching 29 °C in the north; the south sees mercury rise to and occasionally exceeding 38° C in July, by far the hottest month of the year. As a by product of summer’s heat, Iran Weather during this time of the year is also typified by its high humidity levels.
During spring and autumn the Iran Weather is much milder, making both seasons the best time for those not accustomed to its peculiarities considering visiting the country.
Autumn begins in September and is usually laced with beautiful sunny days, although as November approaches the weather in Iran starts to cool and moisten.
Precipitation levels on the eastern and central basins are 200mm. The higher mountain valleys of the Zagros and the Caspian coastal regions experience annual precipitation levels of between 135 to 355 mm.
